The newly constructed Railside Park will play host to this year’s Youth Week event in Waroona. Young people aged 10-25 years within the Shire of Waroona will have the opportunity to attend the free event to celebrate youth, and their contributions to the Shire during Youth Week 2024.
Waroona Youth Fest will be held from 10am – 1pm on Saturday 6 April. Young people can bring along their skateboards, scooters, BMX, skates, and helmets to Skatewave Skatepark for a coaching jam session with the team from Freestyle Now. There will be the opportunity to learn new skills, tricks, and gain confidence, all while having fun.
For young people of a more creative nature, a variety of art workshops will be on offer with some very talented local artists using the Big Shed space. The Waroona Leos will also be providing a sausage sizzle and refreshments during the event.
Shire President Mike Walmsley said the Youth Week event offered young people the opportunity to socialise, challenge their abilities, and learn some great new skills.
“The Shire is proud to partner with valued community stakeholders to provide young people with the opportunity to plan, and participate in activities they really enjoy,” Cr Walmsley said.
The Shire gratefully acknowledges the Department of Communities and Alcoa of Australia for supporting Youth Week 2024.
