The Recreation and Aquatic Centre is located on Hill Street, Waroona. 

Facilities

The Waroona Recreation and Aquatic Centre 'image description'has a wide range of facilities to offer the general public, clubs, organisations and school within the Shire of Waroona. The Centre has one of the most innovative indoor heated pools in the State, which is providing to be a tremendous asset to the district.

The pool caters for lap swimmers, recreational swimmers, private lessons, swimming clubs, aquarobics, school and other clubs and vacation and in-term swimming lessons. The Aquatic area consists of a six lane salt water pool with a water slide and a toddlers pool with fountains.

There is also a double gas barbecue which is free for patrons of the centre. Also catered for a squash, badminton, indoor hockey, cricket, netball, volleyball, qymnastics, tennis, karate ect as well as social functions, meetings and seminars.

Programs run by the centre include kindygym, netball, badminton, ladies social morning sport, fitness classes and aquatic education lessons. A creche is available for some of these programs.

The Centre has a gym available for public use. The gym provides weight and cardio vascular training via membership or casual use.

The Centre has memberships available. Memberships are available for singles, families, or groups. 

Users of the Centre also have access to an outside play area.

Club Development

The Shire of Waroona is committed to developing sport and recreation clubs in the region, and has allocated the club development portfolio to the Recreation Centre.

The Shire will provide a variety of resources to ensure clubs are equipped to remain sustainable in tomorrow’s economic climate, including:

  • Club Development Workshops - A variety of workshops will be made available to members of local community sporting groups. If there are any specific workshop topics that may benefit clubs, please do not hesitate to contact the Manager of Recreation Services and provide suggestions; and
  • Club Development Manual - to provide ease of access for club administrators for references and tips to assist clubs.

The Shire of Waroona is currently experiencing growth, and in order to prepare the community for the exciting times ahead, the Shire aims to assist clubs with information and guidance on sponsorship, fundraising, grants, event management, planning, marketing and promotions, membership and volunteer training.
