The Shire of Waroona wishes to advise that due to a scheduled power outage eftpos transactions at the Buller Road Refuse Disposal Site will be unavailable on Tuesday 13 August 2024.

The rubbish disposal site is situated approximately 11km south west of the Waroona townsite at 702 Buller Road (see map below) and is available for disposal of refuse on the below days:

Council has appointed a rubbish tip contractor to manage the tip under certain hours and conditions. The tip will be locked outside these hours.
Shire Tip Passes
Tip Passes are issued with the Shire rates notices and are issued to the landowners. Tenants are recommended to approach their real estate agency or landowner to obtain the tip pass. Tip Passes must be presented at the tip to dispose of rubbish, otherwise disposal fees will apply. An overview of the two tip pass options are outlined below. Lost or misplaced tip passes will not be replaced.
Residential Landholder Tip Pass
- 12 Tip Passes
- Each Pass permits is equivalent disposal of one (1) cubic metre of domestic waste or equivalent household item (e.g. 1 mattress)
Rural Landholders Tip Pass
- 24 Tip Passes
- Each Pass permits is equivalent disposal of one (1) cubic metre of domestic waste or equivalent household item (e.g. 1 mattress)
Tip Passes will not be accepted for tyres, commercial or asbestos waste.
Please Note: That the contractor has sole rights to the salvage at the tip and will not be allowing any scavenging.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE IS NOT ACCEPTED AT THE BULLER ROAD REFUSE DISPOSAL SITE
The Buller Road Refuse Disposal Site (BRRDS) no longer accepts household hazardous waste (HHW). HHW can be disposed of for FREE to the Mandurah Transfer Station on Gordon Road, Mandurah. The Mandurah Transfer Station is specifically setup to receive HHW and is a designated drop-off point under the State Government Household Hazardous Waste Program. A sign is located at the front gate of the BRRDS informing patrons what is classified as HHW and not accepted at the BRRDS.
WHAT IS HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE?
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) includes unwanted household products that contain chemicals or substances that can be harmful to you, your family, your pets, or the environment.
ACCEPTED MATERIALS THROUGH THE HHW PROGRAM:
- Acids & Alkalis
- Aerosols
- Batteries (household)
- Engine Coolants & Glycols
- Fire Extinguishers - Non halon only (red)
- Flammables
- Flares
- Fluroescent lamps and tubes (CLF's)
- Gas Cylinders (small household)
- Household chemicals (e.g cleaners)
- Paint
- Pesticides/Herbicides
- Poisons/Toxics
- Pool Chemicals
- Smoke Detectors
- Unknown Chemicals - Accepted at most facilities (except Albany) and must be in a sealed, chemical resistant container.
