The lawn area extension and car park improvements are done, now for the play area! Implementation of the Drakesbrook Weir Master Plan continues through the support of the State Government’s $800,000 election commitment and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development grant.
A nature play specialty firm is presently designing and building the nature play elements off site and will start bringing them to the Weir for installation in the coming weeks. These will be located at the south end of the car park, towards the water. Unlike the car park works this won’t mean the Weir will be closed to the public, but an area will be set aside so the installation can go ahead. This will be appropriately signed and marked off so that weir visitors can easily find other suitable spots to park and enjoy the facilities.
